Mitchell Marsh rested for ODI series against Sri Lanka
After adding the left-handed batsman, Travis Head, Australia have come up with another alteration to their squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which will start from 21st of August at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been sent home following the 0-3 defeat in the Test series against the Asian side Sri Lanka. Replacement for Marsh is yet to be announced by Cricket Australia.
At the moment, Australia squad is dragged down to 15-men with Marsh being rested for the series. Speaking about this, Darren Lehmann said that this break will freshen up the all-rounder ahead of South African tour, “It’s a big summer ahead for him,” Darren Lehmann told media following the series defeat. “We’ve obviously got some quality allrounders in our one-day squad anyway, so we get a chance to freshen him up and ready to go for South Africa and moving forward.”
However, all-rounder Moises Henriques will fill the boots of Mitchell Marsh in the ODI series. No.1 ranked ODI team Australia will aim to get back to their winning ways. Wheras, Sri Lanka will look to continue their winning momentum.
Following the ODI series against Sri Lanka, Australia will take on Sri Lanka in two Twenty20 internationals ahead of travelling to South Africa for an ODI game with Irish team and five ODIs against the South African team.
