IPL 2018: Mitchell Starc feels ecstatic as he joins Kolkata Knight Riders

This year’s IPL Auction has been certainly on the expected lines given the much anticipation it had before the mega event. In its first session before the lunch, there have been quite a few surprises along with players returning to their home franchises with the likes of Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh joining Delhi and Punjab for the upcoming edition.

The franchises have played safe so far while some of them going all out in the quest to build a new team from a scratch. KL Rahul and Manish Pandey, attaining the highest bids as Indian players with Ben Stokes and Mitchell Starc being the highest paid overseas players so far.

Starc joins the Knights

Kolkata based franchise has been a bit conservative in going for the bids keeping in mind their strategies but whenever they did go for any player they ensured that they get him at any cost. This has been on the expected lines by the Knight Riders form Kolkata as they once again laid emphasis on strengthening their bowling department. With the recruitment of Mitchell Starc in their ranks, they can certainly boast of having the world’s best in business. The lanky Australian fast bowler was bought by the KnightRiders for a hefty amount of 9.40 crores( INR), after the much hard work on the Auction table to help him be their highest bid in the seasons so far.

Pacer expressed his feelings

As soon as he came to know about his inclusion in the Knight Rides camp for the upcoming edition of the IPL, the left-arm seamer took to the social media to express his joy to thank the franchise for considering him for the forthcoming edition beginning this April.”Thanks for getting me on board, I am really excited to be joining the KKR family for this year’s IPL and really looking forward to meeting everyone….thanks and really looking forward to it,” he said mentioning about the zeal to join the KKR camp.

Starc, who was earlier part of the RCB setup was ecstatic to move towards the east to join the city of joy and couldn’t wait to meet new people and create some lovely fond memories. A video was posted via the official Twitter handle of the Kolkata’s franchise in what seems to be an exciting journey in prospect.
