While the ball-tampering scandal took over and brought a dark cloud over Australian cricket, Mitchell Starc once again found himself injured and out of the Test side. With numerous injuries and the rehab team hoping to get Satrc fitter, it would seem as though the left-arm pacer is well and truly back on track to full fitness ahead of both the Pakistan series and the subsequent tour of India.
Speaking about the same, Starc added that the rehab was indeed going well and that he would be avaialble for the series against Pakistan and India. Starc has had problems with his ankle in the past, something that has not necessarily seen him drop pace, but become rather injury-prone in recent times.
“My rehab is progressing well and I’m looking forward to getting back on the field for the big upcoming Test series against Pakistan and India,” Starc said.
Starc to sleep out in the SCG cold
As a part of his foundation, Starc has reiterated that he would take an active part in the SCG sleepout, something that raises awareness about the homelessness situation that is prevalant in Sydney at the moment. Moises Henriques, Steve O’Keefe and, not to forget ,Lisa Sthalekar are also on board. The foundation said, “It will be a unique event and certainly focus the public’s attention on the plight of the young and homeless, here and raise funds, in the process.”
He went on to add: “I definitely haven’t slept out on the SCG before, but I’ve been out there on a few cold nights playing,” he said.
“Homelessness in youth is a growing issue. There are over 44,000 young homeless Australians which is an alarming statistic. It’s the least we can do.
