Mitchell Starc ruled out of the initial part of Pepsi IPL 2015: The Royal Challenger’s Bangalore (RCB) an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise were a cheerful lot this past week as they found new energy, watching one of their picks’ Mitchell Starc do well in the world cup 2015. Eventually the left-arm pacer ended the world cup as leading wicket taker with 22 scalps to his name and for his highly impactful, match winning performances was awarded the prestigious Player of the Tournament award. But, as we gear up for the Pepsi IPL season 8, it is learnt that the Aussie pacer has hurt himself and will be unavailable for the initial part of the T20 league.

Australian team physio Alex Kountouris confirmed the news and said, “Mitchell had some knee soreness during the latter stages of the World Cup,” “He will have a short period off to rest and recover, before being reassessed by CA medical staff. We estimate his recovery time will be between two-three weeks.”

This is a second blow to the pace battery of the RCB as they are yet to get a clear stance on Adam Milne’s injury. Milne struggled with a heel trouble which forced him to pull out of the semi-final and the final contest of the World Cup 2015 for New Zealand.

While Starc played all the 14 matches for the franchise in 2014 season picking 14 wickets, he was brought by Mr. Mallya’s team for AU$889,000. Milne was considered as one of the better buys for RCB as they picked the speedster up for INR 70,00,000  Rs.

Apart from these two super quick bowlers, the team also has someone really quick in Indian pacer Varun Aaron, Kolkata’s Ashok Dinda and Australia’s Bradman Young cricketer of the year Sean Abbott.

RCB Squad for Pepsi IPL 2015:
Virat Kohli, AB de Villers, Chris Gayle, Mitchell Starc, Nic Maddinson, Varun Aaron, Yuzvendra Singh Chahal, Rilee Rossouw, Vijay Zol, Yogesh Takawale, Abu Nechim Ahmed, Harshal Patel, Ashok Dinda, Sandeep Warrier, Manvinder Bisla, Iqbal Abdullah, Dinesh Karthik, Subramaniam Badrinath, Darren Sammy, Sean Abbott, Adam Milne, David Wiese, Jalaj Saxena, Sarfaraz Naushad Khan, Shishir Bhavane.
