He has taken 215 wickets in 52 Tests at an average of 28.3. Starc will certainly be penned in the history books for Australia as one of the most lethal fast bowlers to have embraced the game. Injuries were a major roadblock in Mitchell Starc’s career
Australian coach Justin Langer also has identified Starc as the world’s best white-ball bowler. Langer also lauded Starc’s ability to bowl at the death and his phenomenal performance in the ICC World Cup 2019. According to Langer, Starc started grabbing the headlines by his performance in the World Cup 2015. However, injuries were a major roadblock in Starc’s career. The pacer bounced back on the scene after emerging as the leading wicket-taker in the World Cup 2019 by scalping 27 wickets.
Starc’s recent record in the shortest format of the game has also been productive. The left-arm pacer has grabbed eight wickets in his last five T20Is. Australia will be placing their bets on Starc to transpire as a game-changer in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
