In India, the pandemic hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down whatsoever. The numbers have kept increasing and it’s not known when the grave situation will end. As of now, over 78,000 people in India have been infected by the coronavirus. Though over 26,000 persons have recovered, the ungodly virus has accounted for the lives of around 2,550.
Among the Indian states, Maharashtra has been the most affected with close to 26,000 cases and the death tolls nearing 1,000. India is currently going through a lockdown period until May 17, which initially started in the last week of March. On May 12, PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation.
During the interaction, he announced a Rs 20 lakh crore package, equivalent to about 10 per cent of India’s GDP. He also said that the details of Lockdown 4 will be announced before May 18. Moreover, Modi is determined to make the country self-reliant going into the future.
