Kings XI Punjab have struggled for the last two seasons after surprisingly reaching the final in 2014. They have taken some serious measures this season by replacing the whole of the coaching staff. One of their recent hirings is Mithun Manhas. He will play the role of assistant coach in the team. The Jammu and Kashmir captain-cum-coach will work with J Arun Kumar who will act as the batting coach.
There are a bunch of other support staffs as well. Amit Tyagi is to act as their physiotherapist while Manoj Kumar will be their yoga instructor with R Sridhar will take the place of fielding coach. Nishant Thakur is the Strength and Conditioning coach and Naresh Kumar has been picked as the Masseur of the team.
This is an all Indian support staff and all these men will be working with the former Indian opener and legend Virender Sehwag. Sehwag is appointed as the Director – Cricket and Operations and the Brand ambassador of Kings XI Punjab.
Sehwag welcomed the newly hired support staff. He said they will surely help them add value to the squad. The former Indian opener said, “I am delighted to welcome Mithun, J Arun, Amit and Manoj onboard. I truly believe they will add value and strength to the squad. We are looking forward to working with each other and having a great tournament ahead.”

Punjab were miserable last season. They changed their skipper in the middle of the campaign and that tells us a lot about the team. David Miller was stripped down from the captaincy and it was handed over to Indian Test opener Murali Vijay but that didn’t do any good as well. They finished at the bottom of the IPL table for the second season in a row.
Some of their best players were out of form. The players that almost took them all the way in 2014 under performed. Amidst all the chopping and changing they have decided to keep the core of the team together and have releases just four players. Mitchell Johnson, Kyle Abbot, Farhaan Behardein and Rishi Dhawan.
This auction will be quite interesting as far as KXIP are concerned. They will have to be smart and buy good to pick a balanced squad.
