Moeen and I are close friends: Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid is hopeful of making it to the Test squad.
29-year old Adil Rashid is an important part of England’s limited-overs squad. He recently spoke about his disappointment at not winning the Champions Trophy in England earlier this year. His desire to cement a place in the England Test side, all-rounder Moeen Ali’s rise and lot more.
On being asked about missing out an opportunity to lift the Champions Trophy, the spinner said that it has hurt the team badly, but credits Pakistan for their phenomenal performance. He also felt that England had a strong squad and started the tournament on a good note but at the end, it was just a bad day at the office. He spoke about his fellow teammate Moeen who is in red hot form at the moment.
Impressed with Moeen’s performance
“I have been really impressed and I always knew that he had that level of performance in him. He’s a match-winner with either the bat or the ball and he’s proven that in the past and he’s shown that since he came into the England team. He has developed his game a lot since he came into international cricket, he has improved his batting and his bowling and hopefully he can continue doing that.” Rashid said. He also added that both of them are close friends and there is no such rivalry.
He also added that both of them are close friends and there is no such rivalry. On the chances of making a Test comeback, Rashid said that it is very much on the cards and believes that both him and Ali can make it to the XI, just like they did in the past.
The leggie also pointed out that the duo has played alongside against Pakistan, India and Bangladesh in subcontinental conditions and therefore it can happen again. England are currently playing West Indies in a Test series. Joe Root’s men have thrashed the visitors by an innings and 209 runs in the 1st day/night Test match.
