Mohammad Amir is a highly talented fast bowler produced by Pakistan. He is highly crafty and a smart customer. The left-arm pacer swings the ball both the ways. Moreover, he is accurate with his lines and lengths. All of this combined makes him very dangerous. But the last few months have been disastrous for the Pakistan pacer.
He is nowhere near his best at the moment and is struggling to pick up wickets. Amir is not the same kind of lethal force he once was. Oppositions are a lot more comfortable playing him and don’t consider him a big threat. The 27-year-old has picked just 5 wickets in the last 14 games at an average almost close to 93. As a result, the selectors decided to leave him out for the World Cup 2019.
Amir wants to give his 100 per cent; fancies a chance to make it to the squad
Mohammad Amir had an instrumental role to play in the final of Champions Trophy 2017. He can be a dangerous bowler in the England conditions. Even though he is left out of the World Cup squad, he still has got a chance to storm into the 15. He is picked in the 17-member squad that will play England early in May.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has only submitted a provisional squad. Thus, they can make changes until May 23 without seeking permission from the ICC. If Mohammad Amir performs well, there is still a chance that the selectors can change their mind and include him in. Hence, he still seems to be optimistic about his chances and put up a tweet after the snub.
“Greatfull for being picked to play against england going to give my 100% InshAllah and good luck to the team for WC19 may the WC trophy comes home InshAllah.. lets support our team…,” he wrote.
