Pakistan were up against the defending champions India in the final of the Champions Trophy 2017. Being asked to bat first they responded exceptionally with a score of 338/4 in their quota of overs. Coming in to chase 339 for the championship the Indian batters faced the Mohammad Amir test. The left-arm fast bowler was right on the money steaming in from the start. He had Rohit Sharma out on the third ball of the inning.

Amir pitched one in the line and it swung back into Rohit late and the Indian opener had no answers to it. He was struck in the crease and tried to play it from his pads but missed it and though contemplated reviewing it but there was nothing to appeal against.

Former Pakistan skipper and arguably the best swing bowler the game has seen Wasim Akram was impressed with Amir’s bowling and immediately after the wicket tweeted to praise the young left-arm pacer. “You little beauty @TheAmirOfficiaI reminded me of my days.” Akram wrote.

Pakistan were all pumped up with an early breakthrough but Amir wasn’t done yet. He had the Indian skipper Virat Kohli stunned with the away movement bowling the perfect line that he is vulnerable against. He edged it to first slip but Azhar Ali fumbled twice and dropped it. Virat had a life and one would imagine him to make the best of it but on the very next ball he tried to work it onto the leg-side and edge it to backward point and departed for just 5 runs.

Young Shahdab Khan wasn’t going to make a mistake there and the Indian skipper was stunned watching the Pakistani fielders run around celebrating probably the most important wicket. It’s a tall task here on for the Indian team here on as they need to score runs at over 7 an over.
