Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir is all set to add yet another franchise to his ever-growing list of teams after agreeing to play in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The left-arm pacer has signed up with Pune Devils for the upcoming edition of the tournament. T10 League’s official page confirmed the news on Twitter on Wednesday. Karnataka Tuskers have been renamed as Pune Devils.
Having retired from Test cricket last year and consequently falling down the pecking order in Pakistan team, Amir has been busy playing franchise cricket across the world. Recently, he played in the Lanka Premier League where he plied his trade for Galle Gladiators. The pace star played a key role in Gladiators’ run to the final where they lost to Jaffna Stallions.
He was the fifth highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Mohammad Amir picked up 11 wickets including a stunning five-wicket haul as he helped Gladiators bounce back from a disastrous start to finish as runners-up. Amir will be eyeing a similar performance in the upcoming T10 League. He is not new to playing in the tournament, having previously plied his trade for Maratha Arabians.
