Mohammad Azharuddin assures former cricketer Noel David of HCA paying for his kidney surgery

As per the latest developments, Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Mohammad Azharuddin, on Monday (February 28), met former India player Noel David, who has been suffering from a Kidney ailment since the last few years and underwent surgery recently. As Noel, who has played four ODIs for India, served the Hyderabad team during his playing days, HCA will take care of his health expenses, including the kidney transplant surgery cost.
Azharuddin assured him of the same. Meanwhile, Noel is admitted at the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad and the former Indian captain paid him a visit there. As David was kept in a sterile environment after undergoing surgery, Azharuddin couldn’t meet him earlier. The same was informed in an official statement released by HCA.

“Today, Mohammad Azharuddin, President – Hyderabad Cricket Association met Noel David at Apollo Hospital. Noel is recuperating after undergoing a kidney transplant surgery this month in Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills,” read the media release.
“The visit could not have happened earlier because Noel had to be kept in a sterile environment post-surgery. Mohammed Azharuddin met Dr. Subramanyam, Nephrologist and enquired about the surgery and post-operative care,” it read further.
Meanwhile, Noel was an off-spinning all-rounder, who played four ODIs for India in 1997. He was sent to West Indies in 1997 to replace injured pacer Javagal Srinath. Although Noel couldn’t do much with the bat at the international level, he took four ODI wickets with his economy rate being just a tad over four. He made his last ODI appearance against Sri Lanka in 1997.
Meanwhile, Azharuddin, in a meeting with the hospital’s COO confirmed that HCA would meet the cost of Noel’s surgery. “In a meeting with Tejaswi Rao, COO of Apollo Jubilee Hills, Azharuddin reiterated that HCA will meet the cost of Noel’s surgery and promised help for Noel to meet his personal expenses,” the statement read.
