Former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin has made the headlines for many different reasons over the years. Now, he is surfacing over the digital media after a shocking revelation. The 54-year old man from Hyderabad has confirmed that he wishes to become the head coach of Indian cricket team one day while speaking to 6D.
That might be a difficult affair for him, but he is presently giving some difficulties to the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA).
The owner of 22 Test tons was once handed a life ban from all formats of the game for allegedly involving in corrupt practices. On Monday, the Kerala High Court lifted the ban from Indian pacer S Sreesanth who was detained from the game of cricket for the same reason.
While Sreesanth is acting quickly to get back in track and ply his trade once more for his state, if not for his country, the situation was not that smooth for Azhar.
BCCI’s ban was declared as void by the Andhra Pradesh High Court only around five years ago. On Wednesday, the members of the CoA, including its president C.K. Khanna and secretary Amitabh Chaudhari met to discuss the case of Azhar.
Azharuddin likely to receive compensation
According to sources, Azhar is most likely to receive a compensation from the board. It has been assumed that the former Indian cricketer will get back his dues in the next SGM. Azhar had once demanded his compensation way back in 2012 and after five years has again written to the CoA asking his dues.
However, Azhar has not demanded any particular amount as the compensation which will include one-time benefit. “Azhar didn’t ask for any specific amount as his compensation.,” confirmed the manager of the owner of 7 ODI triple figures, Anas Baqai. Azhar is hoping that the board will show some generosity and clear his dues at the earliest.
