Mohammad Rizwan’s blazing hundred in the first T20I allowed Pakistan to win a nail-biting clash against South Africa by 3 runs. The home side scored 169/6, and then restricted their opposition to 166 at Lahore. However, there has been a lot of chatter with respect to Rizwan’s knock and who is actually the best wicket keeper for Pakistan in all formats of the game.

In fact, after Rizwan’s hundred, Mohammad Hafeez had openly declared that Rizwan was the No.1 wicket keeper for the Pakistan side. He had also ended his tweet by wondering how long Rizwan had to prove that he is the number one keeper for Pakistan, taking a direct shot at Sarfaraz Ahmed. You can see Hafeez’s tweet below.

Not the one to sit back and take it, Sarfaraz tweeted back and stated that every single cricketer who had worn the gloves for Pakistan occupy the number one position. Sarfaraz also took the names of various keepers that Pakistan have had, including the likes of Imtiaz Ahmed, Wasim Bari, Tasleem Arif, Saleem Yousuf, Moin Khan, Rashid Latif, Kamran Akmal and of course, their current keeper Mohammad Rizwan to illustrate his point. You can check out Sarfaraz’s tweet below.

Mohammad Hafeez continues the argument on Twitter

However, the matter has not ended there. Hafeez has posted a cryptic tweet with just 4 words, and it reads “Shallow minded approach EXPOSED”. You can check out Hafeez’s tweet below.

It is certainly not a good feeling if you are a Pakistan cricket fan and you see the players who represent the country indulging in such argument on social media, and it is there for the whole world to see. But then, one look at some numbers reveal that Rizwan has been in scintillating form with the willow and is a strong contender to indeed qualify as the best wicket keeper for the Pakistan side at the moment.

In his last 9 Test innings, Rizwan has scored 5 fifties and an unbeaten century. Also, in his last 9 innings in the whites, he has failed to cross the 30-run mark only twice. Even in T20I cricket, Rizwan has scores of 89 and 104* in his last 2 innings, and has set the stage on fire with the willow.
