Mohammad Kaif faces backlash on Facebook for playing chess with his son

Within a short span of time, Kaif became the third player to be attacked on Facebook after Irfan Pathan and Mohammed Shami.

After Irfan Pathan and Mohammed Shami, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif is on the receiving end of all criticisms for doing something that is not deemed to be at par with the religious rules and obligations my social media religion experts. Veteran Indian all-rounder Irfan was bashed on social media for clicking a picture with his wife. No problem in clicking a picture with his wife, but his wife’s hands could be seen in the picture.

Also, her nails were covered with nail polish, Then came the people rushing towards his Facebook profile and flooded the picture with comments that termed Pathan as ‘anti-Islamic’. Next target was the current Indian team pace spearhead Mohammed Shami. Shami was celebrating his daughter’s birthday. But he was not spared as well, as the people said if you celebrate a birthday might end up giving you the tag of ‘anti-Islamic’.

Now, Kaif is the next victim of social media backlash. Social media is a platform where fans can very easily connect with their icons. They get their opinions ventured through the option of commenting on any cricketer’s social media post. But it can very often be misused since no one is restricting you from saying anything you want.

Kaif was subjected to this bashing as he posted a picture with his son while they were playing chess. As per the comments playing chess is considered as ‘Haraam’ or forbidden in Islam. Soon, the comments came rushing and the man who scored over 3000 runs for India became the third cricketer within a very short time span to be termed as ‘un-Islamic.’

The caption of the picture read “Shatranj Ke Khilaadi #fatherson #kabirtales #instaplay”. Such a picture ignited religious sentiments and comments like “Bhai yeh game harraaam he”, “Chess is prohibited in Islam” and “Chess.khelna.pap.h.Islam. me” started flowing in.
