Mohammed Amir is my idol, says Mustafizur Rahman
Mohammed Amir is my idol, says Mustafizur Rahman: Taking a fifer on your debut is a dream for any aspiring bowler. Mustafizur Rahman did that yesterday against India taking 5 wickets for 50 runs and rattling the loused up Indian batsmen. But he became a sensational news not only because of that but also for his comments after the match. He said that he idolizes Mohammed Amir, the banned Pakistan pacer. “I wanted to perform well on debut. I know only a few have taken five on debut, but all I wanted was to do well against India,” said the 19-year-old.
He said: “Mohammad Amir is my idol, I just follow the bowling of Mohammad Amir. His spot-fixing allegations don’t bother me,” the young pacer added. Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza was jubilant following his team’s performance and lauded the wonderful performance of his young left-arm pacer.
The Bangladesh ODI skipper said, “I can’t ask for more. Mustafizur was not a surprise for us. We know he can destroy any batsman,”. Earlier, Mustafizur had bumped into MS Dhoni and that collision caused an uproar among the Bangladeshi fans. He immediately went off the pitch and returned minutes later to produce a stellar performance that earned his country a famous win over India. While Mustafizur has been frank and spoke his mind, it is understood that not many are happy with his comments.
