As cricket pundits have mentioned on several occasions lately, it is the bowlers which are helping India win the matches and their batsman are playing second fiddle to them. The deep reserves of Indian bowling are visible as the top two wicket-takers during the World Cup of 2015 for India currently do not have a place in the One-Day side against New Zealand.

Indians have preferred the pair of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah in the limited overs format as they are currently the best death bowlers in the world. Meanwhile, when it comes to red ball cricket, VK and Ravi Shastri have gone in with the likes Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami with Ishant Sharma in the fringes.

“I fully support Kohli’s rotation policy. It gives rest to players like me to get ready not only for Tests but across all formats,” claimed speedster Mohammed Shami according to Hindustan Times.

Rotation Policy also implemented on Spinners

Apart from the pacers, Kohli has also rotated his spinners perfectly with the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja handling the Test format while wrist-spinning options of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav being preferred in the ODI lineup with Axar Patel in the periphery.

“I think it’s good for the fast bowlers. If you continuously play Test cricket, it’s a lot of load for a fast bowler. Playing in sub-continental conditions is very tough. Slow wicket, no pace and bounce. It’s very hard for the fast bowlers to come to one-day cricket with the same intensity,” claimed the bowler now engaged in Ranji Trophy for Bengal.

“When you have played a long season, recovery is very crucial. You can play a lot of matches but your fitness can take a hit. There are more chances of injuries and breakdowns. I think the management is doing a good job in balancing our workload,” concluded the 27-year old.
