Mohammed Shami completes fitness test, posts a selfie on Twitter
Mohammed Shami picked up 10 wickets in the Test series against Sri Lanka.
Indian pacer Mohammad Shami is currently sweating it out at the NCA in Bangalore. He posted a picture on Twitter with the caption ” Fitness test done well in NCA Bangalore”. Earlier, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni along with Suresh Raina and Kedar Jhadav were seen going through fitness related activities at the NCA before the limited overs series against Sri Lanka.
Shami, 27, has played 25 Test matches for India and picked up 86 wickets at an average of 30.87. In ODIs, the pacer has represented India in 49 games, and scalped 91 wickets. He has also played seven T20I games, and picked up eight wickets. Shami, who made his debut against Pakistan in the year 2013, is a vital cog in the Indian bowling line up. He played during the Test series against Sri Lanka, and picked up 10 wickets from three matches. Earlier, the fast bowler was included in the tour to the Caribbean islands. Shami went wicketless in the T20I game but was impressive during the Kingston ODI, where finished the game with figures of 4/48.

After winning the Test series convincingly, Shami returned back home. He lauded the team effort and said that they know each other’s strength “It’s very good to win such a rare series. We will look to continue the momentum and perform well. It’s a team effort and we work in a unit. We are like a family and enjoy each other’s success,” Shami said. “There’s a good understanding among us. We know each other’s strengths,” Shami said. On coach Shastri, he said: “I’ve already said the support staff and the team unit is one of the best.” Shami along with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were rested for the limited overs series. “I try to give my 100 per cent and work on my strength which is swing and bowling reverse. But at the moment, I will spend time with my family and take rest. Then I will start practice.” he added.
