Mohammed Shami donates a whopping amount to the wives of martyred jawans in Pulwama attack

Ever since the unfortunate and the dastard Pulwama attack has stunned the entire nation, the celebrities and the cricketers are giving a helping hand to the families of the martyred jawans. Close to 50 CRPF soldiers were killed in the terrorist attack which has been claimed by Jaish-e-Mohammed and the cricketers are standing behind them financially after the loss. After Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammed Shami has also joined the list to help the wives of the jawans.

Shami donated a whopping amount of Rs 5 lakhs as a help to the wives of the martyred soldiers and also expressed his grief over their deaths. He also assured their families of feeling secured and will always be there to help them. “When we play for our country they stand at the borders protecting it. We stand with the families of our jawans, we will always be there for them,” he said.

Shami follows Dhawan’s footsteps

Mohammed Shami has followed Shikhar Dhawan’s footsteps in this aspect. The latter had released a video on Sunday, urging the nation to extend their helping hand to the families of the martyred soldiers who protect the country on the border. Though he didn’t disclose the amount, Dhawan helping them was a big thing and it seems that the other cricketers might also soon do it.

As far as the duo’s on-field heroics are concerned, both of them look certain to go to England for the World Cup where India will begin their campaign against South Africa on June 6.

Dhawan and Shami have been included in the squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia and these are the last set of matches before the mega event for Team India. They will be itching to perform well in this series and go into the World Cup on a high.
