Mohammed Shami furnishes proofs against Hasin Jahan

Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami has gained a lot of infamy in the last couple of weeks. Ever since his wife, Hasin Jahan, has come out in the media with allegations against him, life has not been easy for the premier pace bowler. Hasin Jahan imposed serious allegations of harassment, rape, extra-marital affair on Shami. She went on to quote that Shami has been taking money from a Dubai based lady, which she reckons could be a connection to match-fixing.

Amidst all this, Mohammed Shami has maintained that he is innocent in the media. Recently, in a coverage with News Tak, Shami has come out with the evidences for the first time in the matter. Up until this stage, it was Hasin Jahan who had furnished screenshots and WhatsApp conversations to prove her allegations against Shami. Now, Shami has responded in a similar fashion to her.

Hasin Jahan had accused Shami of being a bad husband who did not even give her enough money to run the household. Commenting on this, Mohammed Shami gave out a detailed bank statement of last one and half year to cite the expenses made by Hasin Jahan. He noted that his wife bought jewellery worth 18 Lakh, purchased land, and also spent a lot on shopping. Shami pointed out that a cumulative of INR 1.5 crore was spent by Hasin Jahan in the last 18 months.

On rape charges

Hasin Jahan had also charged Shami of letting his brother rape her in the first week on November. Commenting on this, Shami noted that the day when Hasin claims to be raped, he was with her all the time. Also, his brother was nowhere close to the couple on the day. He revealed that the couple had attended Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s reception on November 6 and checked out from the hotel the next morning.

It was the BCCI that had arranged the vehicle for them to head back to Uttar Pradesh. Furthermore, he showed the casual conversations he had with his wife on the same day hinting that there were no problems between the couple on the day. He cited that he was with his brother for a brief while, after which, his brother left for Muradabad and he headed back home to meet Hasin Jahan again.

External influence on Hasin Jahan

Shami reckons that it is because of some external influence that Hasin is taking such actions against him. Also, he feels all of this is not about self-respect but the feud is about property matters. He revealed that the couple have had disagreements over the purchase of a land that Hasin Jahan bought near her maternal home. Shami insisted on not buying a house near her maternal home owing to the societal moral claims as it would make father feel belittled. But Hasin was adamant on buying the land there itself.
