Mohsin Khan has found success due to his wicket-taking mindset: Mohammad Azharuddin
Azharduddin hailed the pacer's mindset to not overthink and follow the same template.
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are sitting at the second position in the IPL 2022 points table with eight wins in 12 league matches. Although they have one foot in the playoffs, LSG need another win to confirm their qualification and get an advantage by cementing a place in the top two spots as well. One of the key bowlers, who has helped them to secure crucial victories has been left-arm pacer, Mohsin Khan. In the latest interaction, former Indian cricketers Mohammad Azharuddin and Lalchand Rajput discussed the form of Mohsin and LSG.
Azharuddin thought Mohsin has been impressive with his accurate line and lengths. He also hailed the pacer’s mindset to not overthink and follow the same template. The former Indian skipper further added that the left-arm pacer is using the new ball well to effect early dismissals, and termed the wicket-taking mindset as the success mantra. In the ongoing season, Mohsin has scalped a total of 10 wickets in six appearances.
“Mohsin Khan is using his strengths well and does not try to overthink. If a bowler overtries, he gets hit for 10-12 runs. But Mohsin definitely goes for wickets, which is needed with the new ball, when you are getting pace, bounce, and swing. This is the reason for his success, and his thinking has been positive. When you keep picking wickets, the batting team surely loses their momentum,” said Azharuddin on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket’ Show on CricTracker.
Lucknow Super Giants have a balanced Playing XI, thinks Lalchand Rajput
Rajput reckoned that along with Deepak Hooda, the openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock have done well for the team. He felt that the likes of Jason Holder and Marcus Stoinis offer good support to the team as finishers and useful bowling. The former cricketer was also impressed with the duo of Mohsin and Avesh Khan, for their consistent form in this season.
“The openers and Hooda have done well, while the team has a good bunch of finishers in form of Marcus Stoinis and Jason Holder, and their batting is quite deep. The duo of Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan have been impressive, Stoinis and Holder come for a couple of overs in the middle, and their packing of bowling is good as well,” said Rajput.
