Australia all-rounder Moises Henriques has expressed his delight over the kind response from Assam people after the unfortunate incident on Tuesday. The team bus of the visitors was attacked by throwing a rock following their dominating win over the Men in Blue in the second T20I. Both the teams now will lock horns for one final time on this tour in the decider in Hyderabad on Friday (October 13).
Henriques was sent in at number 3 by the team management which reaped instant rewards as he played a match-winning knock for his side. Australia was in trouble chasing a small total but the duo of Henriques and Travis Head consolidated early on and then attacked the wrist spinners for the first time on their trip to India. The all-rounder was brutal especially and remained unbeaten on 62 off just 46 deliveries and scripted a much-needed win for Australia.
Henriques’ message
Moises Henriques was extremely happy with the way the cricket fans treated his team while leaving Guwahati on Wednesday. However, he didn’t forget to recall the rock throwing incident on their bus. He took to his official Twitter handle to let his followers know that the team was greeted kindly by the people the very next day. His message read, “Whilst the bus home last night wasn’t ideal, the support from fans & children across Assam today in response was kind. Cheers 2 good vibes.”
Australia would love to end their tour on a high by winning the T20 International series against India on October 13. The momentum is with them and one more good game would see them stopping the Indian juggernaut of winning all the series in their home season since last year. Virat Kohli led side are in the middle of a dream run as they have beaten every visiting country at home since last year in all formats.
Here’s the tweet of Henriques:
Whilst the bus home last night wasn’t ideal, the support from fans & children across Assam today in response was kind. Cheers 2 good vibes✌?
