Bangladesh batsman Mominul Haque has earned himself a place in the 14 man squad announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the first Test match against Australia. The BCB had left out Monimul from the squad when it was announced on Saturday. But now it has been re-announced with Monimul Haque replacing Mosaddek Hossain in it.

Mominul was set to feature in the BCB XI which was supposed to take on Australia as a practice game ahead of the real deal. However, that match got canceled and now the two teams will meet on the 27th next Sunday. Mahmudullah was appointed as the captain for the practice game.

The Australians will play a two-match Test series against the Tigers and the team will be lead by none other than Steve Smith. It the first time in 11 years that the Aussies have traveled to Bangladesh to engage themselves in a Test series. Aussie legends Mike Hussey and Michael Clarke have warned the team ahead of the Bangladesh Test. Both of them believe that this would not be a cakewalk for the Aussies. Hussey feels that the Bangladeshi cricketers know their home conditions very well and will be a tough nut to crack in their own backyard.

The Bangladeshis are extremely confident ahead of the series with many of the cricketers making some bold statements. A few of the Bangladeshi cricketers claimed that the team is capable of beating the Australians under any circumstances. Bangladesh had a decent Test season last year with the team beating England at Dhaka and also picking up a victory against the Sri Lankans in Colombo. Michael Hussey also stated that the team is no longer the underdogs they were a few years ago. Their recent success in the limited-overs format is a proof of it.
