Amla’s poetic batting at the top of the order and Bravo’s return to form with the blade ensured that the Shah Rukh Khan owned Trinbago Knight Riders got their first win of their campaign. Amla looked in imperious form, taking brilliant advantage of the powerplay overs and then settling into his rhythm of wristy stroke making.
The Tridents did have the batting arsenal to chase down the target but failures for De Villers and Pollard meant that it was always going to be an uphill task for them. Sunil Narine once again shone for the Knight Riders picking up 2 crucial wickets and also putting a break on the scoring
The Tridents would want to sort their top order out as they couldn’t get the required brisk start in today’s game. Also, ABD needs to bat at number 3 to have a big impact on the game. Tridents would have to take a leaf out of RCB’s book here to bump ABD to number 3 spot if they want to have any chance of going deep into this tournament.
Moving onto today’s game
Chris Gayle’s Jamaica Tallawahs take on St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots at 9:30 P.M. IST. Both these teams will be looking to get their first win on the board, especially the Patriots who suffered a painful loss to the Amazon Warriors a few days back. Another loss here could mean a lot of catching up to do in the latter stages of the tournament.
The Jamaica Tallawahs boast of a lot of T20 greats and would be looking to set the floor running from the first game itself. Chris Gayle, Shakib Al Hasan, Kumar Sangakkara and Andre Russell have been dominant forces in this format and should they be on song in this tournament, I doubt there is any time that can come even close to matching the Tallawahs.
Let’s get to business now!
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Jamaica Tallawahs- Moneyball9 Fantasy Tips
Batsmen
The Universe Boss, Chris Gayle is my first pick for this category. How can you leave out the best T20 batsman of this generation, especially when he is playing in familiar conditions? You just have to get him in as he could go bonkers tonight!
Faf Du Plessis will be batting at number 3 for the patriots and should be taking on the anchors role, just as he did last time. You can expect to get at least 50-60 points from him every game day!
Brad Hodge came in at number 4 and turned back the clock by smashing the ball to all parts of the field. He is a great value pick as he comes in for just Rs 5500 and is guaranteed to face at least 30-40 balls every time.
Wicketkeeper
Kumar Sangakkara will be wicketkeeper for this game. He has had a lengthy lay off from the game but that won’t stop him from being amongst the runs, something that he showed during the ‘Legends’ series.
All Rounder
For long now Andre Russell has been the best T20 all rounder. He can bowl upfront, he bowl at the death and he can tonk the ball many a mile. If he gets going, which he will, there will be no stopping the Tallawahs.
Bowlers
Tabraiz Shamsi and Krishmar Santokie are my first picks for this category. Both these bowlers bowled beautifully in the last game, picking up a wicket each and putting a break on the scoring rate as well. Now, they do have a steep challenge in front of them as they face Gayle and Co. , but with no clear indication as to which bowlers will feature for the Tallawahs I will like to go with bowlers who are guaranteed to get a game.
Kesrick Williams will be my third pick for this category primarily because of the cost benefit but also because he has been brilliant in the CPL whenever he has gotten a chance, troubling the batsmen with his pace and bounce.
Flexible Player
With just Rs 4000 left, you won’t be able to get in any player of note and with very little information about the West Indian local talent, get in any player who is worth Rs 4000.
Happy team picking.
