'Morgan obviously' - James Neesham takes KKR skipper's stand in his spat with Ravi Ashwin

The IPL 2021 match between DC and KKR saw tempers flaring between players where Ravi Ashwin, Eoin Morgan, and Tim Southee got involved. The sequence started in the 19^th over of the game when Morgan said something to the ace spinner and he retaliated quickly. Dinesh Karthik and other players had to step in to call out for peace.

Many cricket experts around the world stated that Ashwin was wrong and didn’t go with the spirit of the game. The latest to join the line is New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham. He was asked if he is on Ashwin’s side or Morgan’s. Neesham was quick to take Morgan’s name. However, later, he was also asked why didn’t New Zealand react when Stokes was given six runs during the 2019 WC Finale when a throw touched his bat by mistake.

James Neesham also opens up on WC 2019 saga

Earlier in the day, Ravi Ashwin came up with his side of the full story and what all actually took place. He added that Morgan called him disgrace on the field and even these things aren’t taken into ‘spirit of cricket.’ Ashwin made it clear that he would stand for anything wrong coming towards him and in fact, everyone should do the same.

“There are millions of cricketers with several thought processes that play this great game to make it their careers, teach them that an extra run taken due to a poor throw aimed to get you out can make your career and an extra yard stolen by the non-striker can break your career,“ Ashwin tweeted.

“Give your heart and soul on the field and play within the rules of the game and shake your hands once the game is over. The above is the only ‘spirit of the game’  I understand,” he added.
