Over the years, the IPL has seen some electrifying fielding efforts. While acrobatic catches on the boundary ropes were a rarity in the initial seasons, things changed drastically with the likes of Kieron Pollard, AB de Villiers, and many others starting to pull off absolute blinders.
Fans are waiting to witness some exhilarating fielding displays from the players during the 18th edition of the IPL. It isn't a surprise that the legendary MS Dhoni has held the most number of catches in the history of the cash-rich league. The former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain has bagged 148 catches in 266 matches. He might be 43 years old, but his reflexes have not deserted him. This was evident during CSK's opening match of the season against Mumbai Indians when he effected a stumping in the blink of an eye to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav.
Meanwhile, another former India captain, Virat Kohli, has picked up the most number of catches as an outfielder. In 254 matches, Kohli has taken 114 catches. The 36-year-old continues to be one of the fittest cricketers in the game, and he is expected to add a few more catches to his tally in IPL 2025. Among active cricketers, Ravindra Jadeja comes in at No. 3 in the list of most catches taken in the IPL. He has 104 grabs from 242 matches.
