World Cup 2023: Most fifties in ODI World Cup History

The game of cricket has evolved over the years and the way of playing all the formats has certainly evolved too. The ICC Cricket World Cup, the biggest spectacle of One Day Internationals (ODIs), is eagerly anticipated by cricket fans from all over the world. The marquee tournament highlights the participation of the top teams from around the globe in this important competition. It is also the ideal platform for the players to demonstrate their abilities and talents in order to gain recognition from the general public.

Millions of cricket enthusiasts tune in to watch the ICC World Cup, which is contested every four years, on television. The top 10 teams in the world at the moment take part in the competition. After weeks of difficult and grueling games, these ten teams compete against one another for the coveted silver-and-gold trophy.

Even though cricket is a team sport, individual performances are important since even the smallest of individual actions can have a significant impact on the game and determine whether a team will advance further in the competition. Throughout the history of this magnificent tournament, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar of India has been a league apart from other players as the former Indian batter has scored 15 fifties throughout the six World Cups that he has been part of the Indian cricket team. The star India opener has represented the national side on 45 occasions in which the 50-year-old batter went on to score 2278 runs at an average of 56.95.

Surprisingly the second one on the list is Bangladesh’s star allrounder Shakib Al Hasan who is the part in the World Cup 2023 and would be looking to add to that list and get closer to the great man Sachin Tendulkar in terms to most half centuries scores in the history of World Cup. The all-rounder will be playing his fifth World championship. Till now the left-hand batter has played  36 matches in World Cup and has scored 1332 runs at an average of 41.62 with 11 fifties and 2 centuries.
