Asia Cup will return to action in August 2023 in One-Day International (ODI) format. The continental tournament will be played in ODI format due to the World Cup lined up in same format. Since 1984, when the tournament started among the Asian teams, a lot of records have been created and shattered. Some players also became notable names for touching new heights with their scintillating performances.
Asian players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Kumar Sangakkara are still remembered for their colossal records in international cricket. Displaying their spunk and flair, these players own a great many records in One-Day International (ODI) cricket. In Asia Cup (ODI format), these three players are on the list of hitting the most fours, scoring more than 100 fours.
Following these three former legends, Shoaib Malik is also a notable name on the list, becoming the batter to hit the most fours for Pakistan in the continental championship. Talking about active batters who have made it to the list of scoring the most fours in the famed ODI tournament are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Tamim Iqbal, and Mushfiqur Rahim. All these players have racked up more than 50 fours in the competition.
Rohit Sharma holds the second spot for Indian with most number of fours in Asia Cup ODI, ended up in the second spot in 2018 not just on the list of scoring the most runs but also hitting the most fours in the competition with 25 fours. Virat Kohli is the third India overall in the chart.
Shikhar Dhawan, who has hit 62 fours in just nine matches, is holding the fourth position on the list of Indians hitting the most fours in the coveted cricketing tournament played among the Asian countries. In the 2018 edition of the tournament, Dhawan became the leading run-scorer with 342 runs in five matches, in which he notched the runs with 44 fours.
