Most Matches in T20 World Cup

The T20 World Cup 2024 will be held in the West Indies and the United States of America. For the first time, 20 teams will be particpating in the event. While 12 teams were granted automatic qualification, 8 other teams went through different regional qualifiers to earn their place at the marquee event.

Stocks in T20 matches have gone higher in the past few years as fans absolutely love the dynamics of this format. The momentum can shift within a span of few balls and hence, players can’t afford to get complacent at any stage of the contest. Players also need some specific skills to star in the 20-over version.

With batters needing to accumulate runs quickly, it’s necessary to have several shots in the arsenal. At the same time, bowlers need the ability to nail different variations in order to take wickets and keep the scoring rate at bay. While T20 tests different aspects of a player and team, the challenge becomes even more daunting in global events like World Cups.

With a World title at stake, pressure on players and teams is incredible. While several succumb to the challenge, several pass with flying colours. It has to be noted that the first edition of the T20 World Cup took place way back in 2007. However, several players featuring in that competition are still active in the international arena. Subsequently, they also feature among the players to have participated in most T20 World Cup matches.
