While Sanath Jayasuriya scored the most runs in the Asia Cup, his former Sri Lankan teammate Muthiah Muralitharan is leading the race when it comes to the most wickets in Asia Cup. Muralitharan has 30 wickets in the tournament while India's Ravindra Jadeja and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan with 19 wickets are the joint-highest wicket-takers when it comes to active internationals.

While Muralithran is racing with 30 wickets from 24 matches, his former teammate and legend Lasith Malinga has 29 wickets to his name and is second in the list. Ravindra Jadeja and Irfan Pathan are the only Indian bowlers who feature in the list of top 10 of highest wicket-takers in Asia Cup history.
Along with Muralitharan, Saeed Ajmal (25 wickets), Sanath Jayasuriya (22 wickets), Shakib Al Hasan (19 wickets) and Ravindra Jadeja (19 wickets) are the spinners to feature in the top 10.
Rashid Khan, Kuldeep Yadav and Mustafizur Rahman were the leading wicket-takers of the edition in 2018. The trio picked up 10 wickets each to cement their legacy.
As per the Asia Cup schedule, the latest edition of the tournament, which will be played in the T20 format, will begin on 27th of August. Six teams are divided into two groups and the top two teams in the Asia Cup Points table will qualify for the Super Fours. The top two teams will then qualify for the finals of the competition.
