Sam Curran, the young seaming all-rounder from England was bought by Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020 auction. The 21-year-old has shown his excitement to play alongside some high profile players like MS Dhoni in a live Instagram session with CSK. Meanwhile, he also expects things to come back to its usual state so that the league can be organized in the latter part of the year.
The 21-year-old all-rounder has become a regular face of the England Cricket team in the last 12 months. In IPL 2019, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab after paying a whopping fee of INR 7.20 Cr. But, he failed to impress the franchise with his performances. So, they released him into the auction pool. And, in the IPL 2020 auction, CSK bought him at a whopping amount of INR 5.5 Cr.
Curran was all set to join Chennai Super Kings camp after playing Test series for England against Sri Lanka. But, suddenly things changed and the league got postponed due to coronavirus outbreak.
Sam Curran is excited to play for CSK in IPL 2020
Sam Curran said that he is very excited to play alongside MS Dhoni. He feels that it will be an incredible experience sharing a dressing room with such talented individuals. The 21-year-old also added that there are many talented players in the team. But, none of them can go past Dhoni, who is reckoned as one of the finest players in the history of international cricket.
The prolific all-rounder recited that he is hopeful that IPL should go ahead in the latter part of the year. He is really looking forward to playing with MS Dhoni and pick his mind on the field.
“I am very excited to be playing alongside the captain, MS Dhoni. That’s going to be really like an incredible experience for me. There are a lot of extremely talented players but I think it’s hard to go past MS Dhoni. Dhoni is obviously a legend of international cricket.
“He has achieved so much in the game. I am really hoping the IPL does go ahead and I can pick his brains and play alongside him. I have heard he is a great captain. I am just excited to be part of the franchise,” Curran said during an Instagram live with CSK.
