MS Dhoni gives Kedar Jadhav a direction of how to bowl against the New Zealand batsmen
Being a prudent character, Dhoni can read the batsman’s mind.
MS Dhoni might be at the fag end of his career, but his enthusiasm to do well hasn’t died down by any stretch of the imagination. After a pretty lacklustre year in 2018, the Jharkhand-born stepped up and scored three half-centuries in the ODI series against Australia to bag the Man of the Series award. He also played a whirlwind knock against New Zealand at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
The 37-year-old scored 48 runs to help India post a mammoth target for the Black Caps that turned out to be a far cry for the hosts as the visitors won by 90 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Apart from his batting skills, Dhoni has also been at his best behind the stumps. The experienced campaigner stumped right-handed batsman Ross Taylor and yet another time, his fast hands came to the fore.

Moreover, he was also seen chirping behind the stumps, guiding bowlers about the line and lengths that are required to be bowled. Being a prudent character, Dhoni can read the batsman’s mind and the situation of the game. His suggestions have more often than not worked wonders for his team. In the last match, he was seen sending some tips to Kedar Jadhav in Hindi when Henry Nicholls was batting.
He communicated in Hindi so that the batsman doesn’t get an insight into the thoughts of the wicketkeeper-batsman. Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian cricketer and current commentator, narrated what Dhoni had said. Subsequently, his fellow commentator asked him whether the New Zealanders now need to learn Hindi in order to understand what going on inside MSD’s mind.
He also jokingly said that the Black Caps’ batsmen would learn the language before the World Cup, which is scheduled to get underway on May 30 in England and Wales.
