Swashbuckling English opener Jason Roy has made a great start to his India tour. Roy, who had shot to fame with his heroics in World T20 in India last year, was a happy man being back in India. He got off to a good start in the warm-up match against India A. He put on 95 runs with Alex Hales for the opening wicket that set the tone for England’s win.
He credited the World T20 and the Big Bash League for helping him to cope up with pressure situations in front of massive crowds. As per the quotes in Indian Express, Roy spoke about the start he and his team has got on the tour thus far. Talking about the crowds and pressure, he said, “With regards to crowd and pressure situation in the
“With regards to crowd and pressure situation in the sub continent, with two spinners bowling in the middle overs and pressure seems to be getting on top, you need to calm yourselves down. Tournaments like the World T20 held here and the Big Bash help in that,” quoted Jason Roy.
Despite the match being a warm-up match, huge crowds flocked to the stadium. The only reason was that it was MS Dhoni’s last match as the captain of the Indian outfit. He quoted the entire experience to be an awesome one.

“The atmosphere was outstanding, it got the boys going. I think the boys enjoyed, with the crowd like it was. Boys bowling to Dhoni gave us great practice. It was awesome,” he said. Giving a word on Dhoni, Roy was all praise for the Indian legend. He cited that being India’s most successful captain is indeed a big achievement for MS. However, he added that the England team were not concerned about him but their own game.
“It’s an incredible position for him to be, as India’s most successful captain and a hero for India and the world. But we worried about ourselves and did not pay too much attention to what was going on around,” quoted the English opener.
Speaking on the personal front, he mentioned that he is keen on getting big scores. He rightly cited that the 100s win matches and not just the good starts. He also expressed his desire to be a part of the IPL 2017.

“Happy with start, but a lot of work still to be done. 60s, 70s and 80s don’t win you games, but 100s do. IPL is on the same wavelength as Big Bash and I would like to be a part of it,” he conceded.
