There is absolutely no denying that MS Dhoni is one of the most if not the most popular cricketer in the world at present. No matter where he goes, the fans always make sure to give him a warm reception. Something similar happened with him once again while he was in Dubai for a vacation with his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva.

Soon after the IPL 2020 ended in the UAE, the former India skipper decided to spend his time in the gulf country. Unlike several cricketers, he was not accompanied by his family in the UAE while the tournament was on but Sakshi and Ziva joined him as soon as IPL 2020 came to an end on November 10.

Last Thursday (November 20), Dhoni had celebrated Sakshi’s 32nd birthday in Dubai. The Dhonis were joined by two sporting greats–Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her Pakistani cricketer-husband Shoaib Malik–for the birthday celebration.

A pleasant surprise for MS Dhoni in Dubai:

Coming to the other incident that took place in Dubai, MS Dhoni was pleasantly surprised by famous Punjabi singer Satinder Sartaaj. Known for his Punjabi-Sufi music, Sartaaj gave Dhoni a pleasant surprise by praising him with his lyrics. Dhoni enjoyed the compliment as he was seen laughing. Sakshi recorded a brilliant moment and later posted it in her Instagram story.

Here is the clip of that moment:

Meanwhile, IPL 2020 was a forgettable one for MS Dhoni and his side Chennai Super Kings. For the first time in the history of the tournament, he failed to guide the team to the playoffs. CSK finished the competition at the seventh spot after managing six wins from their 14 league games. Three of those wins came in their last three outings when they were already out of the playoffs race.

MS Dhoni had also faced criticism for his batting. Apart from facing the heat for demoting himself, the 39-year old was also criticised by the fans for his poor strike-rate. Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket in August, scored exactly 200 runs in 13 games at an average of 25 and a strike-rate of 116.27.
