MS Dhoni joins the CSK camp, starts off with a different ball game
Dhoni is in Chennai and has joined the CSK squad ahead of IPL 2018.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is fast approaching and the teams are getting things on track. They are organizing the training camps, playing practice matches and with that figuring out the initial line-up that they can field once the season gets underway. IPL 2018 becomes even special as it marks the return of two fan favourite teams the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals.
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni will be back to leading CSK while Steve Smith will handle the affairs in the Royals camp. Dhoni was rested by the Indian team management for the T20I tri-series in Sri Lanka, the Nidahas Trophy. He was enjoying the time away from cricket with his family and opted to play other sports along with other engagements to unwind.
He is now back in the Super Kings camp and started off the proceedings with a game of pool. The Chennai Super Kings posted an image of Dhoni taking a shot on their Twitter account and wrote, “Off the mark! So what if it’s a different ball game altogether? #Thala #HomeSweetDen #WhistlePodu”
Like he does so often on the cricket field, the CSK captain finished off this game in style as well, hitting the last shot into the pocket. CSK posted a video of the same and wrote, “And Dhoni finishes off in style! @msdhoni #Thala #HomeSweetDen #WhistlePodu”
Chennai along with Royals missed out on the last two seasons of the IPL after being banned by the Supreme Court for two years. In their absence, Dhoni was signed up by the Rising Pune Supergiant where he led them in the first season and played under Steve Smith in the next.
CSK in the auction and the retention option before that managed to hold on to the core of their team. Along with Dhoni, they got Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis and Dwayne Bravo who were originally a part of their team in 2015.
