Legendary Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni would not feature in the stands for the 3rd India vs Australia Test that is scheduled to take place in Ranchi from March 16th. PN Singh, the manager of the Jharkhand cricket team revealed the much disheartening news.
With the series poised at one each, the Ranchi Test would be a thrilling encounter between the two teams as both the captains will try to take the lead in the series.
“Our team arrived in Delhi and Dhoni is flying in a day later. We have a knockout match against Vidarbha on 15th and a semi-final on 17th. We are confident of reaching the semifinal in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and hence Dhoni’s presence at the Ranchi stadium is “unlikely”, PN Singh said from Ranchi.
The 35-year-old Dhoni visited the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) stadium in Ranchi on Thursday surprising the officials. But the hugely respected cricketer kept himself away from giving any kind of suggestion to the pitch curator as he is not the present Indian skipper.

It has come into news that Dhoni returned to Ranchi with a few members of his Jharkhand squad by flight.
“They didn’t travel in a train this time because we have given a 2-day break to all team members and players have gone home at their different destinations from Kolkata.”
Dhoni travelled in the train with his fellow teammates from Ranchi to Kolkata earlier this month. The inventor of the helicopter shot being a previous Railway employee thoroughly enjoyed reliving his past. The incident also gives us an example of the down to earth nature of the cricketer.
“This time a journey to Delhi will be in plane. It is about 1200 km journey between Ranchi and Delhi and therefore all team members will be travelling in a plane,” the manager further added.
