India crushed Windies in the third ODI of the five-match series. They were by far the better side when it came to batting. The Men in Blue had their backs to the wall when the captain and Shikhar Dhawan went back early. Yuvraj Singh also went after scoring only a few and did not apply himself that well.

Ajinkya Rahane once again proved his worth by scoring a fantastic 72. MS Dhoni was the star of the innings as he played the waiting game at first but broke free after Rahane’s wicket. He and Kedar Jadhav made sure India ended up with a score more than 250. It looked like Windies were finally getting in the groove but it was not supposed to be.

Their batting failed miserably once again. The openers did not provide them with a good start. Evin Lewis was sent packing and the rest followed him at regular intervals handing India a 93-run victory. The next two games are a must win for Windies if they are to save this series; which looks unlikely.

That said, Dhoni was the star of the match as he entertained the crowd with some magnificent stroke play. He was in the mood and managed to carry India to a winning total. Dhoni also did something other than hitting the ball that caught everyone’s eye. He went down the track against the leg-spinner and left the ball alone.

Things only Dhoni can do

He is a masterful wicketkeeper. He has the fastest hands in world cricket and no one can argue with that. His work behind the stumps is just impossible to match but yesterday he showed us how to save oneself from being stumped.

He went down the track to Devendra Bishoo when while batting on 30 off 53 balls. Bishoo saw Dhoni come down the wicket and he bowled a wide delivery way outside the off stump. The smart cricketer that he is MSD realised he cannot get to it and instead of going through with the shot he went back in the crease. This was something any batter has hardly tried. His presence of mind left everyone in an awe.
