MS Dhoni smashes two thunderous sixes at Chepauk stadium during practice session
A few thousand fans turned up in numbers to witness MS Dhoni sweating it out at the nets.
Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has not played an international game since the 2019 World Cup tournament and his future in the Indian cricket team is not confirmed yet. The Indian team management-led by head coach Ravi Shastri and the national selectors have since then given mixed reviews as far as the former Indian skipper’s future is concerned.
Earlier, MSK Prasad has already told that the management has moved on from Dhoni. On the other end of the spectrum, Ravi Shastri still reckons that MS Dhoni has still got a lot of steam left in him to deliver as a cricket. The head coach added that MS Dhoni needs to make a statement with the bat in a bid to get ready for national team selection.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni arrived in Chennai and took the cricket field for his training at his favourite Chepauk stadium. It was the first training session of the 2019 IPL runners-up Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni lead a short group of players including the likes of Ambati Rayudu, Murali Vijay, Karn Sharma and Piyush Chawla.

As many as three stands were open to the spectators and Chennai welcomed back its Thala with roaring chants of “Dhoni! Dhoni! Dhoni!”. It was then MS Dhoni walked out to the middle of the practice pitch and then faced up against the left-arm finger spin of CSK new recruit R Sai Kishore.
During the training session, MS Dhoni smashed two magnificent sixes that sent fans into a frenzy. With a powerful flick of his wrists, Dhoni easily launched two maximums.

The 13th edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League is just a few weeks away from the entertainment package and plenty of excitement is already starting to kick-in. One of the biggest attractions of IPL will undoubtedly be Dhoni’s return to the game.
The three-time ICC Trophy and IPL winner, who hasn’t played any competitive game since India’s 2019 semi-final exit at the hands of New Zealand will be seen in action for the first time on the field in the upcoming IPL.
