MS Dhoni takes Team India on a ride in Jasprit Bumrah’s car
India won the series 5-0 and Jasprit Bumrah won the Man of the Series award.
The Men in Blue went past Sri Lanka for the eighth consecutive time on the tour as they won the final ODI comprehensively by 6 wickets. They also achieved the historic double whitewash on the tour in both the Tests and ODI series. Jasprit Bumrah won the Man of the series for taking 15 wickets in the 5 matches and he was awarded the Multix car. Soon after the post match presentation, Dhoni took the control of the driver’s seat as the other team members followed their former captain and took a ride around the ground.
India displayed a near flawless performance in the series as Sri Lanka never came close to even threaten them apart from the second game in which Akila Dananjaya spun his web. All the batsmen enjoyed their time in the middle. Bowlers were excellent in their tasks as the hosts could never post a total beyond 240 in the series.
The best bowler of the series was Jasprit Bumrah and he was deservedly awarded the player of the series award. The pacer also registered his career best figures of 5/27 in this series and looked ready for the upcoming ODI series against Australia.
Team India ride on Bumrah’s car
After the mandatory click of the side with the ‘champions’ hoarding Dhoni ran towards the car and looked excited about its shape. He took steering and started to explore how it’d work. In the meantime, all the other members hopped in for the ride.
Kedar Jadhav took the seat on the roof of the vehicle seat and kept the trophy with him. Hardik Pandya and Manish Pandey controlled the doors of the front seat from both ends and stood there. Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli and Yuzvendra Chahal sat quietly in the middle seat like good boys as the others stood behind.
Rohit Sharma, Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar sat at the rear end of the vehicle like they had nothing to do with what was happening. But the best part was they enjoyed the moment as Dhoni completed the lap around the ground and parked the car back outside the dugout. Soon the video of Team India riding the car went viral on social media.
