MS Dhoni trumps Hardik Pandya in a sprint
The second ODI is in progress in Mohali.
India and Sri Lanka have locked horns in the second ODI of the three-match series in Mohali at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) on Wednesday. The visitors are leading the series by 1-0 and have arrested their losing streak finally after 12 matches. So India was under pressure going into the second game as it was a must-win game for them. However, they looked relaxed on the day as Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni challenged each other in a sprint ahead of the crucial game.
Both share a special camaraderie towards each other as Pandya made his debut under the captaincy of Dhoni in January 2016. He is also being groomed as a finisher under the watchful eyes of the former captain cool of India. Though the youngster could not beat the 36-year-old veteran in the running race. In a close contest, MS Dhoni crossed the line just at the end and proved yet again that he is still the best finisher on the field.

India off to a cautious start
Sri Lanka once again won the toss on a foggy morning in Mohali and opted to field first with the hope to replicate the scenes of the opening game of the series. However, the Indian openers looked well equipped this time around to counter the swing and have got off to a cautious start. They have played out the first few overs and both Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are looking comfortable in the middle now.
Earlier on the day, the Men in Blue handed over a debut to the 18-year-old Washington Sundar. He was only included in the squad as the replacement for injured Kedar Jadhav just before the series commenced. It will be interesting to see the way he goes about his international career after impressing at the domestic level consistently. He is also touted to be one of the fittest career going around and would look to seal his position in the team.
