Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni may not have played any International game since July but the charismatic wicketkeeper-batsman always manages to rake up headlines. Dhoni hasn’t played for Team India since the latter’s exit from the 2019 World Cup after losing the semi-final to New Zealand in Manchester.

Post the World Cup, the three-time ICC trophy-winning captain- T20 World Cup 2007, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy- went on a sabbatical in a bid to spend some time with the Indian army. Since then speculations have galore around the enigmatic former captain’s International future but that hasn’t fazed Dhoni one bit.

The champion wicketkeeper-batsman has continued to feature on public forums. Recently, a pic of MS Dhoni preparing ‘pani-puri’ during his vacation with former cricketers like RP Singh went viral on social media. And, now upon returning from the Maldives, MS Dhoni is trying his hands at organic farming.

The former Indian World Cup-winning skipper took to his official Facebook account to post the video of the same, which he captioned as: “Start of organic farming of watermelon in Ranchi followed by papaya in 20 days time. first time so very excited”

MS Dhoni will soon join the CSK pre-season training camp

Coming back to MS Dhoni and the speculations surrounding his International career, the fear among the fans that Dhoni may have played his last match for India, was accentuated to the hilt when the former captain was dropped from the annual-contract retainer list by the Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI].

However, that does not mean that Dhoni can’t play for India. In case of a player not getting an annual contract, he can still be selected in the team on a pro-rata basis with his compensation being a proportion of the total amount that the player used to get in his previous contract.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has been quietly preparing himself for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League where he will spearhead the Chennai Super Kings unit. Dhoni will soon join the training camp at the Chepauk before his side takes on Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener on March 29.
