MS Dhoni: The Untold Story finally released this weekend after a lot of buzz and excitement. It screened on 4500 screens worldwide and was well received by the film critics and audience. The director of the movie, Neeraj Pandey, promised the audience of revealing some very unknown facts about India’s most successful captain.
The film mainly focused on different episodes of Dhoni’s life, right from his childhood days to the moment he hit the famous six against Sri Lanka in the World Cup final to end India’s 28-year-old wait for glory. A lot of focus was also put on his relationships.
While a majority of fans, who turned cinema halls into stadiums wearing the Indian jersey returned satisfied with the way MS Dhoni was portrayed in the movie, a handful of the keen observers spotted a few lacking elements in the story. It seems that director Neeraj Pandey and his team missed out a couple of details in the movie which ran for a long length of 3 hours 10 minutes.
The script does not touch upon controversies and subjects like his younger brother Narendra Singh Dhoni, his rumored relationships a couple of actresses and selection as the captain. No doubt, just like most of the biopics made in the past, the makers decided to play it safe rather than create controversies.
Not may know but MS Dhoni has a Narendra Singh Dhoni apart from his supportive sister Jayanti Gupta whose role was portrayed by actress Bhumika Chawla in the biopic. Narendra Singh Dhoni is a politician from Ranchi.
Narendra and his family used to stay with Dhoni in their paternal home before Narendra decided to live separately. Now, it is not like there’s any bitterness between both the brothers but it was quite strange that there was no mention about him in the film, not even once.
