MSK Prasad happy to see Ambati Rayudu perform for CSK
Rayudu's exploits in the IPL have earned him a spot in the India ODI team
The Chennai Super Kings had a different strategy in mind heading into IPL 11. While most of the teams tried to get a good mix of young and senior players, the Super Kings went in with experience and purchased tried and tested players who had the ability to hold their nerves in crunch situations and take responsibility to take the team over the line.
Ambati Rayudu has been one of the consistent performers in the history of the Indian Premier League. He contributed well for the Mumbai Indians in the previous seasons but IPL 11 is the breakout season for him. The Chennai Super Kings showed faith in Rayudu and MS Dhoni decided to send him at the top of the order. Since then, he has piled misery on the opposition bowlers by hammering them to all parts of the ground and has already crossed the 500 run mark.
Rayudu joins the 500 run club
Chief of the senior selection committee, M. S. K. Prasad was mighty pleased with Ambati Rayudu. “I am extremely happy to see Rayudu’s form and consistency. Hope he continues the same form with the Indian team in the coming ODIs.” Prasad told Sportstar. Rayudu was rewarded for his good show in the IPL with a place in the Indian ODI team on their tour to England.
The yellow brigade will be hoping that Rayudu continues his dream run and provides the team with good starts. He has been a major contributor for CSK and his prolific run-scoring spree is one of the reasons as to why CSK is one of the best batting sides in the IPL. Rayudu notched up his first T20 hundred in CSK’s home game against SRH. His knock proved to be the difference between the two sides.
The Super Kings have made it to the playoffs but they cannot afford to take rest as finishing in the top two must be their ultimate goal. It provides them with an extra cushion as they get two opportunities to make it to the finals.
