Pinal Shah
The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman was acquired by Mumbai Indians in 2008 due to his decent first-class record with Baroda. He played a watchful knock of 19 runs in 23 balls and held one end alongside Robin Uthappa in the first match to help MI reach a respectable total.
However, his overall performance wasn’t great as he managed to score just 34 runs in the 5 matches he played in the 2008 edition. Another disappointing season in 2009 (53 runs in 9 matches) led MI to release him that year. He failed to get any bids for 2010, however, he managed to get a break with RR in the 2011.
Shah played only 2 matches and scored a paltry 5 runs in the season to bring down curtains on an unfruitful IPL career lasting 3 seasons. He has been quite consistent for Baroda, his first-class team, and continues to play domestic cricket.
