The first-ever game that KL Rahul captained in the IPL was an absolute humdinger. The game was full of twists and turns, and of course the umpiring errors. In the end, it was the Delhi Capitals who managed to get over the finishing line after the Super Over. While all this was on side of the coin, another incident caught the attention of many during this game.

KL Rahul, while he was fielding, was caught on the stump mic hurling abuses at one of his teammates. There are quite a few players from Karnataka in the Kings XI Punjab. Karun Nair, Mayank Agarwal, and Krishnappa Gowtham were a part of the playing eleven. Since KL Rahul was speaking in Kannada, the abuses might have been addressed to one of these players.

‘Munde Baaro l*wd@’ – KL Rahul

While on the field, KL Rahul seemed quite animated behind the stumps. Asking one of the fielders to come forward, he said, “Munde baaro l*wd@”. He was also seen gesturing the same. While this would have been tough to make out if it was a fully-packed stadium, the case was otherwise. The IPL is being played in empty stadiums this year. Thus, there is hardly any noise from the crowd. Thus, even though KL Rahul was standing well behind the stumps, his voice was caught on the stump mic.

Coming to the story of the match, KXIP won the toss and elected to field. They did a brilliant job with the ball until Marcus Stoinis walked in. The Aussie all-rounder was on fire and scored 53 off 21 balls. In reply, KXIP lost half their side quite early in the chase. Mayank Agarwal, however, put up a brilliant fightback. He almost won the game for his team before he went for the glory shot. As a result, KXIP failed to chase down the target and the match ended in a tie.

In the Super Over, both Nicholas Pooran and KL Rahul got out in quick succession. As a result, KXIP could only put up 2 runs on the board. It was the easy ask for the Capitals and they chased it down quite comfortably.
