Mushfiqur Rahim urges people of Bangladesh to support the flood victims

Nearly 6 lakh people have been affected by floods in Bangladesh, and their Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim is concerned. During a Facebook live session today, Rahim has urged the people of his nation to help out the flood victims. The cricketer addressed the audience with an emotional message saying, “I have come in front of you today with a lot of pain, hope and an appeal for help.”
Mushfiq vowed to support the victims during the hour of need. He requested the people to come out and play a part in the revival. He especially spoke about the north Bangladesh region, which has been severely affected by the flood. He also said that financial help would be great, and apart from that flood relief or any other kind of contributions will play a very important role. The wicketkeeper-batsman also hoped that people will at least pray for the victims if not a meaningful contribution from their end.
Daunting task
The Bangladesh cricket team faces an uphill task of countering the Aussies when the latter visits to play a 2-match Test series. “In the past, we couldn’t take the home advantage whether as a batting unit or [through] our spinners,” Mushfiqur said.
“The visiting team had world-class spinners and batsmen which ended up helping them more. But in the last two-three years, we have been able to do the same. So now, we have the confidence that against a team like Australia, we can play well. We have a number of talented spinners, experienced all-rounders and batsmen. I think this is the best time to play against Australia. We have to hope that everyone is fit and we start well.” he added. He also said that Bangladesh
He also said that Bangladesh are capable of taking 20 wickets if the team play as a unit. The side has improved a lot over the last couple of years and it is to be seen if they can repeat the performance they had put out against Australia’s arch-rivals England.
