The good news for Bangladesh cricket has arrived. Their bowling hero Mustafizur Rahman is apparently recovering well after a long exit from the game. Rahman has been out of action following a shoulder injury. In very short span of time, the young pacer had made a name for himself. He was instrumental in making Bangladesh a massive team at home conditions.

He had a successful World T20 campaign as well. Rahman further followed it up with a brilliant season in IPL for the champions Sunrisers Hyderabad. Now, the news has arrived that Mustafizur Rahman is back to practice sessions and is bowling well. In a recent statement, Dr. Debashish Chowdury, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief physician, said that Mustafizur Rahman and Ebadat Hossain are recovering very well.

Both the pacers were seen training with national team trainer Mario Villavaryan. They will be joining the Bangladesh team for their preparatory camp in Australia later this month. The physician told the media that both bowlers bowled with 80-90 percent intensity and showed steady progress.

“Mustafizur and Ebadat bowled with 80-90 percent intensity. Our trainer is very happy with the progress and the good news is both the bowlers were able to bowl in two spells. They bowled with 80-90 percent of their ability without any difficulty whatsoever,” Dr Debashish quoted.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play New Zealand towards the end of this month. Hence, the news has come in as a big boon for the team. “If they can bowl with their 80-90 percent intensity, it means they have achieved the desired fitness level. They have achieved the goal. We have only a few days left in our hand. We will have gym and net session. And after that, the selectors will think about the New Zealand series,” he added.

Dhaka Dynamites pacer Mohammad Shahid was also ruled out of the BPL following a knee injury. Dr. Debashish had a word on him as well. He said that Shahid has shown improvement as well. However, he will take a little longer to get back to full fitness.

“Shahid incurred the injury last week. We have examined his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) injury and at the moment, the condition of his knee has improved than before. He has passed some of our tests. But in this condition, he still needs to take rest for another week. After two-three days, we will examine him again. Then we can tell about the further measures for him,” he concluded.
