Mustafizur Rahman fit to play in the BPL
Team physio Bayezid Ahmed remarked that Mustafizur completed the rehabilitation.
Mustafizur Rahman has finally been deemed fit to take part in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Earlier, the Rajshahi Kings had recognized that they didn’t want to risk him till he was 100%. However, the team physio remarked that he has attained match fitness now and is ready for the league.
The left-arm pacer was earlier ruled out of the limited-overs series against South Africa owing to the shoulder injury. Mustafizur hasn’t been a part of the ongoing BPL so far. Currently placed at number six at the points table, Rajshahi would be certainly boosted by his inclusion in their ranks.
Rehabilitation has been completed
Team physio Bayezid Ahmed remarked that Rahman’s rehabilitation stint was over. He mentioned that the Fizz bowled plenty of overs in the nets. He was also a part of the training session.
“We are observing Mustafiz since last few weeks after he returned from South Africa tour. We have completed his rehabilitation phase after he joined Rajshahi team in Dhaka phase of BPL. He has bowled in four sessions in last few days including today’s practice. Today he took part in running sessions including five overs bowling in the nets,” Ahmed said.
He expressed confidence over Mustafizur’s fitness and stated that the left-armer experienced no discomfort while bowling. “So far Mustafiz has no complain about his injury. As a physio point of view I am confident about his fitness. As Mustafiz has no complain physically, so we can say that he is fit,” he added.
The Kings are scheduled to play their next game against the Comilla Victorians on Saturday, i.e. the 25th of November. It remains to be seen if Mustfizur will be included in the XI for the contest. The team management may take a call before the start of the match.
