The mysterious cutters, the cunning pace variations and the ability to stop the flow of runs- all these make Bangladeshi pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman an asset in the shortest format of the game. Hence, his demand is quite high in any franchise based T20 cricket league. The Sunrisers Hyderabad player will ply his trade for the Rajshahi Kings in the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He is all set to join the squad on November 8.

The ‘fizz’ was sidelined from cricketing action due to an ankle injury which he sustained during Bangladesh’s humiliating tour to South Africa. Though he will join the squad on Wednesday, he will still take some time to recover fully and hence there is no chance to watch him in action soon. However, Kings will be able to avail his services in the latter half of the tournament.

In a press release today (November 7), the franchise mentioned, “He (Mustafizur) is currently completing his rehabilitation process from the injury he suffered in South Africa and progressing quite well. Mustafizur is an asset of the country and his full recovery is the first and foremost priority.”

Rajshahi Kings’ performance in BPL 2017

Rajshahi Kings lost their first game of the 2017 edition of Bangladesh’s cricketing fiesta against Rangpur Riders by 6 wickets. Batting first, the Kings scored 154 runs which were easily chased by Mashrafe Mortaza’s Riders. The team led by veteran Windian all-rounder Darren Sammy is now placed 5th in the points table (before the Sylhet Sixers v Rajshahi Kings game).

As per reports in Cricbuzz, Sammy won’t be able to turn to his most precious bowling asset before November 24, when the Chittagong phase of the league starts. The Kings will start their Chittagong campaign on November 25 against Comilla Victorians, the team which is guided by the Afghan all-rounder, Mohammad Nabi.
