BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur has revealed that N. Srinivasan will continue to be the chairman of International Cricket Council (ICC0 till the end of September 2015. As per ICC’s norms, the chairman’s post belongs to a BCCI’s representative for two years starting from July 2014 till June 2016. But Thakur has said that Srinivasan will be in that role till September 2015 and a new candidate will be appointed as the chairman for the remaining time.

Thakur said Mr Srinivasan will be BCCI’s representative as ICC chairman till September 2015. In September, we will have our Annual General Meeting (AGM) as per schedule where there would be discussions about what will be the way forward for us.

He also added that discussions are going on in finding a new coach for the Indian Cricket team after Duncan Fletcher’s tenure ended after the World Cup. He along with BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya are negotiating it and they will be discussing the issue along with other BCCI officials, senior players and the captain of the team.

The discussions are still on. India’s next international assignment is in June and we still have some time to go for that. We will be certainly appointing a new coach. We (president Dalmiya and myself) are having discussions with a lot of people. It’s a decision that needs to be taken after a lot of deliberations keeping the interests of Indian cricket in mind. Mr Dalmiya and myself will be speaking to the senior members of the board as well as senior players. We also sought for the captain’s view regarding the matter. We can assure that the best man available for the job will be appointed, Thakur said.
